August Burns Red | Lancaster, PA
August Burns Red held their annual Christmas Burns Red show on December 16th and 17th in their hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The first night consisted of bands on the Solid State record label.
Earth Groans opened up the show with “Heathen Heart”. This got the crowd ready for the night. Next up was Becoming The Archetype. They started their set with “The Epigone” and the crowd loved it.
Phinehas was next to take the stage. As soon as the band started playing “Eternally Apart”, the crowd was ready. They played a strong set that kept the crowd wanting more.
Silent Planet opened their set with “Panopticon” which got the crowd surfers ready. Norma Jean’s vocalist joined Silent Planet to sing “Nervosa”. The band ended their set with “Trilogy”, a fan favorite.
It was the almighty Norma Jean’s turn to take the stage. Their set list contained songs from Redeemer, All Hail, and O’ God, and The Aftermath. The security guards were not ready for the amount of crowd surfers to come. Norma Jean ended their set with “Anna” that Garret Russell from Silent Planet joined the stage to sing.
The last band to take the stage was August Burns Red. The stage was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and the drums looked like they were in the snow. As their intro song “Everybody’s Free” started playing, the band walked on to the stage as the crowd held up huge cardboard cutout faces of the band. Their set contained banger after banger that left the crowd moshing and having fun all night. They played a few of their Christmas covers mixed in their set along with songs from their earlier albums. As they ended the night playing “Carol Of the Bells” and White Washed”, one of the members of the band came out dressed as Santa Claus.
