Blessthefall | Baltimore, MD

On August 20th, Blessthefall made their way to the Baltimore Soundstage. This night of the tour marked the 10-year anniversary of their album Hollow Bodies. Dragged Under, Kingdom of Giants, and Caskets were supporting the tour for a memorable sold-out show.

Kicking off the night, Dragged Under took the stage opening with “Instability”. The crowd immediately knew what to do. The security had their night started early with crowd surfers. The vocalist, Anthony, has a way of getting the crowd to reflect his energy back at him. The set consisted of high-energy songs with a mix of metal and punk elements. Once “Hypochondria” started, the vocalist commented that he saw a sign that said “pit" and told the crowd to keep the energy going.

Next up was Kingdom of Giants. Their set consisted of songs off their album Passengers. The band's sound has perfectly blended melodies and heavy breakdowns, which the crowd loved. As each song the band played, you could see the emotion and energy the vocalist, Dana, and guitarist Red had. They never stopped moving and interacting with the crowd.

All the way from the UK, Caskets took the stage. They started their set with “Guiding Light”, where you could hear the vocalist throughout the entire venue. After each song, the crowd kept moshing and surfing to the barricade. Caskets played fan favorites “Falling Apart” and “Glass Hearts”. These two songs showcased the band's raw emotions, intricate melodies, and post-hardcore sound.

It was finally time for the moment everyone was waiting for, Blessthefall took the stage. They celebrated the anniversary of their fourth album Hollow Bodies by playing it front to back. As soon as “Exodus'' started, the crowd immediately lost control with excitement. The nonstop crowd surfers, circle pits, and moshing continued as songs played. Dragged Unders' vocalist joined the stage to sing “Youngbloods”, and at this point, vocalist Beau told the crowd to do a big circle pit. Beau also constantly sprayed water and went back and forth to the barricade, giving the crowd more reason to keep the energy going. After finishing up the last song on the album, Beau asked the crowd how many songs they wanted to hear for the encore, and the crowd went crazy, wanting more. They ended their encore with five songs, “Wake the Dead”, “Cutthroat”, “2.0”, “What’s Left of Me”, and the classic “Hey, Baby Here’s the Song You Wanted”. You could hear the crowd sing every word as you moved throughout the venue.
