Winding down from their first tour in over twenty years, Dogstar played two nights at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville just in time for the holidays.

The band kicked off their set with the opening track “Blonde” from their recently released album, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees. Fans of all generations were eager to spend the evening soaking up the resurgence of music that belongs on the soundtrack of a John Hughes movie. The band’s drummer, Rob Mailhouse, busted out the harmonica for “Dillon Street.” While a typical two hour set on a Wednesday night would feel like an eternity, Dogstar’s music was concise and flowed perfectly from one song to the next, and before long, the band was walking off the stage before their inevitable encore. A cover of “I Wanna Be Sedated” by The Ramones and an unreleased song, “Shallow Easy,” helped to close out night one in Music City. If anyone had walked into Brooklyn Bowl only knowing of bassist Keanu Reeves, they certainly left as a fan of the band and the individual members.
