When hearing Emmrose’s mature lyrics and voice, unique chord structures, and soaring songwriting abilities, it’s incredibly easy to forget she is only 16 years old.

Although she is influenced by other current alternative pop artists like Billie Eilish and Lorde, “Hopeless Romantics” shows that Emmrose isn’t limiting her sound. The song adds a Latin flair to her dark pop roots in a seamless way. Blending Latin-style percussion and guitars with Emmrose’s haunting yet welcoming singing style, this song is something new and unique for the dark pop genre.

In a similar vein to her last singles, “Hopeless Romantics” keeps with Emmrose’s theme of analyzing relationships.

"When I first wrote this song, it was more of "what's the worst thing that can happen", and then of course two days after, it happened” explains Emmrose. “It's pretty personal but the first verse shares a lot of the anger I had around the situation. I originally wrote it on the ukulele, and kept going with that vibe because I thought it was fun and felt really natural to try something new."

“Hopeless Romantics” follows Emmrose’s previous single “Tonight”, already proving this is an artist not afraid to break boundaries and expectations.
