Flipturn | Nashville, TN
On the final leg of their US tour to promote their newest album Shadowglow, Flipturn rolled through The Basement East in Nashville with Hotel Fiction.
Hotel Fiction opened the sold-out show. Playing songs like “Allure” and “Instead of Us” from their newest EP Enjoy Your Stay, the band was able to get the crowd to shake the day off and loosen up. By the end of their set the Athens natives walked off stage with a room full of new and old fans cheering for them.
Flipturn took the stage and opened with “The Fall”, the first track off their new album. The beginning and end of each song was met with especially loud cheering from different areas of the crowd as they played someone’s favorite song for over an hour. Towards the end of the set, lead singer Dillon Basse told the story of the first time Flipturn had performed in Nashville where they played in a tiny record store on the Belmont University campus. The band wrapped up their set with “Space Cowboy” and left the stage before being called back by the audience for an encore of “August” and “Nickel”.
