Glacier Veins "The World You Want to See" Review
Every so often, a band comes around and releases a record that feels important beyond anything that could have been predicted. With “The World You Want to See,” Glacier Veins have created something both expertly composed and timeless. And while nothing about this record aims to re-invent the wheel, the Portland-based rock band have made a record that cements them as expert songwriters and demands full attention, laying the groundwork for them to take over the world.
The songs present on “The World You Want to See” could be split up into two main categories - loud, in-your-face rock anthems (“Talk”, “Perception”, “Feel Better Now”) and huge, dreamy slow-burning ballads (“Another Feeling”, “Driveway”, “Time”), the latter of which truly showcasing the group’s potential to win over listeners of any musical background. No matter how you approach this album, you can’t deny the songwriting showcased here, and that is the aspect of this band that will allow them to become everyone’s favorite band. The sky is the limit.
