Real Friends & Knuckle Puck | Palatine, IL

Knuckle Puck & Real Friends kicked off their co-headlining tour with a sold out gig at Durty Nellies in Palatine, IL.

Fellow Pure Noise Records band Bearings is the opener on this run and kicked the night off as the room began to fill up. Playing a pretty even mix of both LPs they’ve released and their two newest singles “Shaking Your Mind” and “Scenery”, they got the crowd perfectly warmed up for the headliners.

Knuckle Puck was up next, by this point the room was so full it was almost uncomfortable. They came to the stage and brought the energy they always do to all shows, but especially hometown shows. Within the first 30 seconds of their first song “Disdain”, there were already more crowd surfers than you could count and the aggressive finger pointing you expect from a pop-punk show.

Real Friends closed the night out, fresh off their brand-new release, There’s Nothing Worse Than Too Late. Playing a perfect balance of old and new, Real Friends kept everyone moving throughout their set, even during a short acoustic moment where Cody & Eric took the stage by themselves to play “Teeth” off their previous EP Torn in Two.

All in all, this was an incredible night & a great way to kick off the co-headlining tour that everyone, but especially Chicago, have been waiting for forever.
