Sabrina Carpenter | Chicago, IL

Sabrina Carpenter brought her emails I can’t send tour to Chicago’s House of Blues on October 9th. With a line wrapping around the block, fans came ready for a great night while dressed to the nines in costumes based on lyrics off her fifth studio album released earlier this year.

Girlhouse kicked the night off for this sold-out crowd with a mixture of songs off their latest release the third ep and older tracks off their previous two EPs from 2021- all while Lauren tells stories behind the meaning of the songs, sharing stories about her life (& love life), and telling the crowd a little bit about what it's like to be a woman in the music industry.

The crowd was ready when the last song on Sabrina’s pre-show playlist, “All Too Well” (the 10-minute version, of course), started playing over the speakers. The lyrics were screamed by nearly everyone in attendance, to the point that you might think we were about to see Taylor Swift come onto the stage. But as soon as the lights went out, it was clear who everyone was there to see. Sabrina came on stage under a massive sparkly light-up heart and opened the set with the piano-driven title track from her new album, emails I can’t send. Without missing a beat, she struts down the stairs in perfect supermodel fashion and picked up the tempo a little bit with “bet u wanna” and “vicious”.

Sabrina took the time to connect with fans throughout the entire set, between sharing jokes that her fans started - like bringing forks out during “how many things”, switching lyrics up to talk about how much she loved Chicago, reading signs, and even taking a handful of moments to have conversations with people in the crowd the entire night. She even took a fan's fluffy pink cowboy hat for a couple of songs before returning it to its rightful owner.

Overall, this was an incredible night with two incredibly talented women showing everyone what they could do and doing it well.
