Thursday | Chicago, IL (Riot Fest Aftershow)
Riot Fest weekend is always one of the best weekends of the year. Coming every September, it also brings a week worth of late-night aftershows at some of the smaller intimate venues around Chicago, giving fans the opportunity to see their favorite bands in venues they would not usually play. One of those shows this year was Thursday and Anthony Green at Reggies Rock Club.
Anthony Green played an intimate solo set to a sold-out crowd of about 400 fans, making one fan emotional while singing "Everyway" directly to them. Anthony is truly an expert on reading the room and making you feel what he is playing, whether in large rooms with his band Circa Survive or smaller rooms like this intimate evening and set.
Thursday started their set at midnight, but that did not stop the post-Riot Fest crowd from giving their all in this packed room. The band played their second album, Full Collapse, in full and ended the night with “Jet Black New Year," "Signals Over the Air," and "Turnpike Divides."
Whether you are a 2000s emo kid seeing two of your favorite artists or a casual fan who happened to snag tickets, this was a night that no one in the room is going to forget anytime soon.
