Locket "All Out" Review

Saying that Locket’s debut full-length album All Out is relatable, from beginning to end, would be an understatement. It kicks off with hard-hitting, sentimental anthems and ponders into “Hunnie”, digging even deeper into an indubitable personal story about immense love and the pain you go through when the person you are devoted to is hurting. All Out takes you through these waves, portraying the story of life and the trials and tribulations that go with it.

The music is so emotionally charged, portrayed exquisitely through Locket’s control of sound and their lyrics.

The imagery in every verse and chorus throughout the album designs a vision of evoking thought. Have you ever been in a moment where the view in front of you was so beautiful and impactful that to this day you remember every detail? Listening to All Out gives you the same experience, painting a scene in the forefront of your mind in every song.

Locket gives an infectious rhythm that makes you feel like you are in the venue, dancing and shouting the lyrics at the top of your lungs before you even know them. Every single element of All Out is perfectly crafted to tell the narrative of each melody. The pressing feelings of passion, grief, and agony compile a novel journey into 35 minutes of marvel and awe.

Brad Garcia [vocals, guitar], JJ Sorensen [drums], Cory Bergeron [guitars], and Travis Morrison [bass] have created a well-rounded masterpiece with no weak links that flow alluringly.

I found myself thinking this album made me ‘comfy’. I don’t like using the word comfortable to describe almost anything. Music has far too much power and influence for such a word. To more accurately describe the album, I’d say it makes you feel safe - secure in yourself by being free to be yourself. All Out says you are allowed to be full of flaws and you are capable of admitting them to yourself and the world and it is okay.
