Candlebox | Nashville, TN

Nashville played host for a night to 3 Doors Down and Candlebox to celebrate the anniversary of 3 Doors Down’s second album, Away from the Sun. Fans of all ages filed into Ascend Amphitheater and before long it became the perfect balmy evening to get the beer flowing and enjoy an evening of what has been affectionately dubbed “dad rock”.

Candlebox kicked off the show with nostalgic ‘90s grunge. The band is celebrating 30 years of their self-titled debut album and have marked this as their farewell tour, aptly named The Long Goodbye Tour2023, to coincide with their final album of the same name. While the setlist was primarily comprised of songs from their first album, Candlebox snuck in their newest single “What Do You Need?” which is featured on The Long Goodbye. Singer Kevin Martin dedicated “Blossom” to the beautiful women of Tennessee and “Far Behind” to Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell, and Andy Wood. The band closed out their set with “You” and left the crowd eagerly awaiting The Long Goodbye’s release.

Candlebox’s final album The Long Goodbye was released on August 25th.
