I Prevail | Milwaukee, WI

Stand Atlantic, Fit For a King, Pierce the Veil, and I Prevail played The Eagles Ballroom at The Rave on November 8th as part of the True Power tour.

The night started off with some alternative rock hits from Stand Atlantic. Even early on in the show, the room was already packed. The Australian band played the majority of the songs from their newest album f.e.a.r. with the only deviation being “Jurassic Park”. Stand Atlantic really set the tone for the rest of the night.

Fit For a King, Texan metalcore four-piece, was up next. The fans went wild when they came out to “Eyes Roll Back” - a song from their most recent album The Hell We Create (which half of their set was from). Much of the rest of the band’s set was from their 2018 release Dark Skies.

Pierce the Veil was third on the bill for the night, and it seemed as though the majority of the attendees were there in support of Pierce the Veil’s first tour since 2017. It was interesting to see Pierce the Veil on a tour they were not headlining, but regardless, they brought the heat. They started off their set with their 2012 hit “Hell Above”, as screams of excitement echoed throughout the room. Fans were moving a lot in the pit, but really started picking up the pace by Pierce the Veil’s fourth song, “Caraphernelia”. There was a countless amount of crowdsurfers throughout the band’s set. A majority of Pierce the Veil’s setlist came off of their 2012 album Collide With the Sky, with the only exceptions being their first single in years, “Pass the Nirvana”, as well as fan-favorites “Caraphernelia” and “Circles”. Pierce the Veil has a great stage presence and sounds even better live. Over the past 16 years of their career, they continue to improve and experiment with new sounds.

Lastly, headliner I Prevail took the stage. Fans were already hyped up from the openers, so as soon as I Prevail started playing their first song, “The Fear In Letting Go”, people were already starting to mosh and crowdsurf. I Prevail’s post-hardcore/metalcore hits such as “Gasoline” and “Bow Down” had the entire crowd engaged. The Eagles Ballroom has a capacity of 4,000 and at one point in I Prevail’s set there was a circle pit taking up over half of the crowd.

Allie Loven

My name is Allie Loven. I am a concert and portrait photographer based out of the Chicagoland area. I started shooting smaller local shows when I was 14 and never quit, with the exception of a two year break because of Covid. Even when shows weren’t happening I never put my camera down. I was always taking portraits with my friends and family. I’ve been working with CHARMMusic since 2017 and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon. My favorite genres of music are rap, hardcore/metalcore, and pop punk, but my listening is not limited to just those. Some of my favorite bands/artists are Movements, Knocked Loose, The 1975, EST Gee, and Juice Wrld. I know, it’s a wild variety. Besides photography, I work with children and will be continuing my schooling to eventually become an elementary age teacher. I am also vegan and adore animals of all kinds (cows are my favorite). I’m very lucky to have had the opportunities that CHARM has brought to me and I am excited for what’s to come. My instagram is @allielovenphotography and my twitter is @dem0ny0uth if you ever want to say hey or wanna create some art together <3
