In our recent interview with Mandy Rose, she opened up about the inspiration behind "Baddest In The Club Hun", her artistry, challenging times in the industry, and upcoming plans.

  • Can you share more about your early musical journey? What inspired you to start composing music at a very young age?

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I started composing music on the piano when I was 8. My family had this old piano, and I would spend hours experimenting with different melodies. I was inspired by the emotions that music could convey, and it became my way of expressing myself. Growing up in Richmond, I was surrounded by a rich music culture, and that really fueled my passion for creating my own sound.

  • How did your experience as an exotic dancer shape your music and your approach to the industry?

My time as an exotic dancer taught me resilience and the importance of staying true to myself. It was a challenging environment, but it gave me a thick skin and a unique perspective on life. It also fueled my desire to pursue music full-time, as I realized that my true passion lay in creating and performing music. The experience taught me to embrace my individuality and channel my experiences into my music, making it more authentic and relatable.

  • Your music blends pop and rap with empowering lyrics. Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they impacted your sound?

I’ve been influenced by a diverse range of artists. Nicki Minaj’s versatility and boldness in her music have always inspired me. I also look up to artists like Charlie XCX for her innovative approach to pop music and her ability to push boundaries. These artists have shown me the importance of staying true to your unique sound and not being afraid to experiment and take risks.

  • What was the creative process behind “Baddest In The Club Hun”? What message do you hope listeners take away from this song?

The creative process for “Baddest In The Club Hun” was all about capturing the energy and confidence of being unapologetically yourself. I wanted to create an anthem that empowers women to embrace their strength and individuality. The message I hope listeners take away is that being the “baddest” in the club is about owning who you are and not letting anyone dim your shine.

  • How does “Baddest In The Club Hun” reflect your growth as an artist since your previous singles like “888” and “Hurricane Mandy”?

“Baddest in the Club Hun” showcases my growth in confidence and my ability to blend different genres seamlessly. While “888” and “Hurricane Mandy” were more about exploring my sound and finding my voice, this new single represents a more polished and assertive version of myself as an artist. It’s about taking everything I’ve learned and using it to create something bold and empowering.

  • Working with Grammy Award-winning producer Tommy Brown must have been an incredible experience. What’s the best piece of advice he has given you?

Working with Tommy Brown has been a game-changer. The best piece of advice he’s given me is to always stay authentic and true to my sound. He’s taught me the importance of embracing my uniqueness and not being afraid to take risks. His belief in my potential has pushed me to strive for excellence in everything I do.

  • Women empowerment is a recurring theme in your music. What motivates you to focus on this theme, and how do you hope your music impacts your listeners?

Women empowerment is a theme close to my heart because of my own journey of finding my voice and strength. I want my music to inspire women to embrace their power and to know that they are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. My hope is that my music gives my listeners the confidence to be unapologetically themselves and to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

  • What has been the most challenging part of your journey in the music industry, and how have you overcome it?

The most challenging part has been navigating the competitive nature of the industry and finding my unique sound. It’s been a journey of self-discovery and perseverance. I’ve learned to stay true to my vision and to not get discouraged by setbacks. Surrounding myself with a supportive team and staying focused on my goals has been crucial in overcoming these challenges.

  • Looking ahead, what are your long-term goals as an artist? Are there any dream collaborations or projects you hope to pursue?

My long-term goal is to continue growing as an artist and to make a lasting impact with my music. I’d love to start touring and connecting with my fans on a larger scale. As for dream collaborations, working with artists like Nicki Minaj and Charlie XCX would be amazing. I also hope to explore different genres and continue pushing the boundaries of my creativity.
