Pup | Austin, TX

On March 3rd, 2023, PUP and Joyce Manor came through Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas on their co-headlining tour with support from Pool Kids.

Starting off a great night is Florida-based “Big Rock” band, Pool Kids, with the large and rowdy crowd they deserved. The band played mostly songs from their new self-titled album along with a classic, “$5 Subtweet”. They are the type of emo band that you can vibe to while simultaneously crying and punching the air at, with their relatable melancholy lyrics making for an all around fun experience.

After a brief technical issue, Joyce Manor took the stage, and the crowd was off their feet as soon as they heard the drum and bass intro of “Heart Tattoo”. Never a dull moment during a Joyce Manor performance between screaming to your favorite emo anthems, moshing and crowd surfing.

We ended the night perfectly with the high energy Toronto-based punk band PUP. Punk riffs and big choruses have the entire crowd aggressively finger pointing and singing along to every song. An amazing night and an amazing lineup with some of the best bands that the emo and punk genre have to offer.
