The sudden cold weather in Chicago didn’t stop anyone from coming out on a Monday night to celebrate the first date of The Academic’s headlining tour for their album Sitting Pretty.

Cousin Simple kicked the night off with a set so full of energy that you couldn’t help but dance along as you watched. They were the perfect fit to (quite literally) get the crowd warmed up for a night full of dancing and singing along to The Academic.

This was The Academic’s first time back in Chicago since 2018, and as they were about to start, everywhere you turned you could hear fans young and old discussing their favorite tracks off their newest album and how excited they were to see the band.

The set, mostly consisting of their newest album, kept people dancing all night & they spent the time in between songs interacting with the crowd like they were lifelong best friends, even going as far as taking a fan's BeReal for them that went off toward the start of the set.
