The Kills | Nashville, TN

Nashville was ecstatic with The Kills' God Games tour announcement, and even more ecstatic on March 5th, 2024 – when the band landed on Brooklyn Bowl for an amazing hometown performance.

Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart haven't released any new music in seven years, but when God Games was released back in 2023, fans were ready for the duo's comeback. Alison has called Nashville home for over ten years, and her excitement to be playing for so many fans, in addition to family and friends, was palpable. She mentioned it was her niece's first time seeing The Kills, and the crowd was just as happy as she was.

The band started the night with "Kissy Kissy," and as the night progressed, we saw an eclectic setlist that highlighted the hits from God Games, but also honored the classic hits that made the band, like "Future Starts Slow" and "Doing it to Death.”

Mosshart's stage presence and frenetic energy combined with Hince's guitar solos and charismatic smiles gave Nashville fans a delightful Tuesday night. Mosshart's hair flips from one side of the stage to another kept fans electrified and they sang every single song with the lead singer.

Even in the middle of the week, the band played to a full house, and fans were even arguing to see who would be closer to the barricade. Nashville had a passionate audience that has been waiting for this show for way too long – since 2016. After the band closed the first part of the set with "Future Starts Slow," the crowd clapped and screamed until Hince and Mosshart returned onstage for three more hits. Alison's heartfelt words to fans and family made the night even better. The Kills have a few more dates left in the U.S. tour and then they head to Europe for the remaining God Games tour. The duo has been delivering masterpieces since 2001 and they proved that they still have a lifetime to deliver even more unforgettable moments.

Maris Souza

Hello! my name is Mariana but everyone knows me by Maris. I have been holding a camera since I was 9 years old and haven’t stopped ever since. I was born and raised in Brazil and moved to Nashville a decade ago. In 2020 I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BFA in Photography and Media Art and have been working with musicians and bands since then! The adrenaline of photographing live concerts is one of my favorite feelings and I can’t ever get enough of it.
