Born Without Bones "Dancer" Review

This release from Born Without Bones has a special nostalgic feeling dropped into each and every piece, full of nuanced spins on classic sounds, both vocally and instrumentally. The intertwined influences matched with the indie-punk group’s distinctive personal sound emanates the pure investment put into this album’s entirety.

“Dancer” and “Don’t Speak” kick off the album with staple sunny day drive vibes. “Fistful of Bees” is the tune that plays upon the cool kid’s arrival at the party in an old 80’s movie. “Heart at Home” is the slow-dance scene at the prom, in front of a live band. All songs in this album are standalone stories that paint a picture in the mind’s eye and allow you to choose where you want to go next.

Every track has its place in the present and yesteryear alike. From coffee shop to concert, there is something for any mood or energy felt throughout this record, without exception. The individualistic touches in each song create a varied yet cohesive blend that makes this LP undeniably entertaining.
