Chelsea Cutler | Porland, OR

Chelsea Cutler made her first visit to Portland, Oregon in two years for her The Beauty is Everywhere Tour and her first since releasing the Stelleria album in October.

The night kicked off with Adrian Galvin, who goes by the stage name Yoke Lore. It was only he and his drummer, Rafe Bouchard, that took the stage and yet filled the room with indie bops with melodic bridges. Notably, a Savage Garden cover of “Truly Madly Deeply” and Yoke Lore dropping his guitar to dance to his song “Shake” won the crowd over and warmed them up for the rest of the evening.

Chelsea Cutler started her set with “Something More.” The stage was an incredible light show in itself, adding to each beat and transition throughout the night. After a few songs, Chelsea took time to visit with the crowd. Fans participated in a little warm-up of clapping and hip circles before Chelsea spoke to the straight men, alluding that if they appeared to have fun, they would be getting lucky after the show. She called out the song “Hunting Season,” that it was a song about crippling mental illness, and the crowd noticeably sang along. She joked that she was terrible at playing “Growing Up is Hard” and that everyone should be nice to her. Then Chelsea slowed it down on the piano for a trio of songs, rotating in “You’re All I’ve Ever Dreamed Of.” The rest of the evening was picked up after what felt like a dance party to “Sad Tonight,” then brought a fan to help play the pad controller for “The Reason.”

Chelsea’s performance showed her connection with her fans as they shared intimate moments full of laughter, sing-a-longs, dancing, strobes, and ballads.

Christina is half-Korean, originally from the Midwest, now living in a Pacific Northwest world. Despite enjoying live music, she’s a morning person all the way. After being told not to pursue another form of art, she turned to photography at a young age. Christina was always the friend taking photos and eventually turned it into a creative outlet while enhancing her self-esteem and body image. When she’s not at a show she’s either spending time with her significant other and pups, slinging spreadsheets at her 9-5, or taking photos for local business owners, elevating their brands. Christina is a recovering perfectionist who is optimistic, compassionate, and has a dry sense of humor (sending TikTok’s is a love language).
