Fletcher | Minneapolis, MN

FLETCHER made a triumphant return to Minneapolis last night, selling out the 1550-capacity First Avenue to a crowd of adoring fans. The Girl of My Dreams Tour marks the singer’s rising fame as she graduates from First Avenue-owned Fine Line Music Cafe, a venue with a capacity of about half that of the First Ave main room.

An anxious crowd erupted as the New York City set was revealed, full of neon lights, multiple ‘rooms’, and a ladder FLETCHER would use to ascend to the upper platform throughout the night. FLETCHER opened the night with a medley track of “Guess We Lied” and “If You’re Gonna Lie”, before moving into heavy hitters “Conversations”, “Sting” and “Serial Heartbreaker” - all songs off Girl of My Dreams. An overwhelming majority of the crowd knew the words to every song on the setlist, proving there’s no such thing as a casual FLETCHER fan.

As she kicked into the chorus of “Her Body Is Bible”, girls make out and clutch each other close throughout the venue - a sort of gay anthem lyrically-reminiscent of King Princess’ “Pussy Is God”. FLETCHER moves into the “dream sequence”, a pair of songs voted on by fans,  boasting that she sang the lyrics to “I Love You, Bitch” correctly for the first time to a backdrop of cell phone flash and lighters.

After a quick costume change, FLETCHER brings the energy back up, covering “If You Seek Amy” by Britney Spears, followed by her breakout song “Undrunk”, and several tracks from her growing catalog of hits.

Assisted by the crowd, she closes the set with “For Cari”, an acoustic ballad written as an ode to herself during a challenging season, leaving her fans wanting more and demanding an encore.

She returns to stage one last time, playing absolutely roaring renditions of mega-hits “Becky’s So Hot” and “Bitter” - the unapologetic and tell-all pop anthems we’ve all come to expect from the growing star.

Fans interested in seeing FLETCHER can still catch one of her remaining shows as she rounds out the North American dates on the west coast through November 18, before heading to Europe for a run of shows in the new year. Head to https://www.findingfletcher.com for tickets.
