Malachi Gagnon Interview
Rising viral pop artist Malachi Gagnon has unveiled a music video for his third single "Without You”. We got to speak with him about his career in music at a young age, his sound, and his upcoming plans.
Hey Malachi Gagnon, it's a pleasure to have you! How would you describe yourself and your music to someone who has never heard of you?
Hey guys, it’s a pleasure to do this! I love sharing my story. My music is a mix between Morgan Wallen, Shawn Mendes, and a few other artists. At least, that’s what I’ve heard...But really, my music is just me.
How is it to navigate the music industry at such a young age? Do you feel like you're facing any hardship due to your age?
I have some amazing people around me who help guide me and make sure I stay on track. I don’t feel like I have hardships because of my age since my expectations are realistic. I have so much to learn and so much I need to grow in, so being young gives me more time to do that. I’m just a teenage dude living my life - music isn’t who I am it’s just what I love to do.
Can you tell us more about your new single “Without You"?
We all know what it feels like to love someone and not want to lose them. To not want to live our lives without them. I hope this song gives words to those feelings.
You released 3 songs with a music video in the past few months ("Craving Me"
"Psychopath", and "Without You"), is it important for you to illustrate your songs with a video and a proper story?
Yeah, I think it’s cool to have something my fans can look at and see the story, witness it in a different sense, and actually see what’s happening, rather than just hearing it. I’ll be putting more music videos out with each release as well.
What's coming next?
Well, depending on when this goes out, it may have already been released, but I have my next song dropping on November 4th. This one is 100 percent my favorite out of all the songs I’ve written. I’ve also got a concert on December 18th in Tampa that I’m very excited about!
