Nowhere Days 'Hell Is Real" Review

Released August 2nd, 2022, “Hell is Real” starts off incredibly exciting, perfectly transitioning into the second song and single off the album, “Get Your Shit Together”. The chord progressions and melodies in this song are very reminiscent of early 2000’s pop-punk. If you’re a full-blown nostalgic like I am, you absolutely love this. Moving into “Sara Jean”, we’re feeling a bit grim. The touches of piano and lyrics will absolutely put you in your feels. “Not Going Anywhere” picks things up again, including the light, fun, and quick Midwest Emo guitar pickings I think we all adore.

Throughout the album, you can also hear inspiration from 80’s and 90’s Classic Rock, 2000’s Emo, and Punk Rock. These influences being modernized and paired with strong vocals, heavy bass tones, crazy pickups - are those violins I hear?! Out of the park. Nowhere Days did an outstanding job of creating a well-rounded musical journey that is detailed, captivating, and their very own.

You can listen to “Hell is Real” on all streaming services AND live at their release show on August 12th at GMan Tavern in Chicago, IL, if you’re 21+! Don’t forget to follow Nowhere Days on Instagram as well for what’s to come - @nowhere.days
