ROZZZQWEEN Interview

Following her nomination at the Birmingham Music Awards and her new song ‘Lost 4 Wordz’, R&B artist ROZZZQWEEN discussed her music, inspiration, and future plans with us.

  • What made you want to pursue a career in the music industry?

I wanted to pursue a career in the music industry because I’ve always been inspired by the bright lights and the release of creativity. There’s something about it that awakens my soul.

  • From ‘Rudeboy’ to your newest release ‘Lost 4 Wordz ’, your music is a raw expression of your past relationships and romantic adventures. Do you believe talking about these topics and experiences can empower and uplift women?

For me empowering women is a big task that I definitely seek to pursue, however, I think empathizing and expressing my experiences through music would captivate them and I think it’s important to have relatability in music otherwise how else does an artist captivate another’s soul?

  • Can you tell us more about your creative process? Are you the type to finish a song in a few hours or do you take time to nourish an idea for a song?

The word “inspire” actually derives from the Latin word “inspirare” which means to be blown into by god and I truly believe that god blows ideas into my soul which I’m able to regurgitate.

  • How does it feel to be nominated for the best r&b and soul act at the Birmingham Music Awards 2022?

It was such an honour to be nominated in my own city. I can’t lie I cried a little bit. It was such an incredible experience!

  • What are your plans for the rest of the year?

The rest of the year consists of me releasing visuals and more music of diverse genres. I really want to push my creativity to the maximum this year. I live in London now and I see all the lights in London and they inspire me wholeheartedly.

Laury Verdoux

I’m a music marketing manager during the day and Christmas movies addict at night I started my career in music with booking in 2018 (my biggest highlight being to work on Elton John’s Tour in France) and discovered the PR/marketing world during the pandemic. After years of working with artists from the USA, all over Europe and South Korea, I’m more passionate than ever about helping artists get their music out to the world. What's better than being able to write about your favorite artists on a daily basis?
