The Devil Wears Prada | Silver Springs, MD
The Devil Wears Prada's Eternal Tour made its way to The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, on October 30th. Greyhaven, Like Moths to Flames, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, and Silent Planet joined in celebrating 20 years of the band.
The night kicked off with Greyhaven, who took the stage with high energy. They played fan favorites such as "In a Room Where Everything Dies," "Sweet Machine," and "Echo and Dust, Pt. 1." Their enthusiasm set the tone for the evening.
Next up was SeeYouSpaceCowboy. As the first notes filled the middle of the room, the crowd moved with the music during "Disdain Coupled With a Wide Smile" and "Silhouettes in Motion." Vocalist Connie owned the stage riser with explosive energy. Their set continued with "Misinterpreting Constellations," "Self Help Specialist Ends Own Life," and "Chewing the Scenery," while the crowd erupted with nonstop surfing.
Following them, Like Moths to Flames took the stage and launched into "Habitual Decline." Their energy was fierce, and during "Nowhere Left to Sink," the crowd sang along. Before the next song, vocalist Chris challenged the audience to be the loudest of the tour so far. They performed several tracks from their new album, The Cycles of Trying to Cope, which stirred the crowd into circle pits and moshing. They concluded their set with the fan favorite "Bury Your Pain."
Silent Planet then walked out to the intro track of their latest album and kicked things off with "Offworlder," "Collider," and "Euphoria." During "Antimatter," a proposal took place as the pit opened up, with constant circle pit activity surrounding the couple throughout the song. The band ramped up the energy by debuting an unreleased song, "Mindforce." The crowd split the room into a wall of death, and the energy remained high until the end of their set, with vocalist Garret diving into the crowd while finishing the song "Trilogy."
Finally, it was The Devil Wears Prada's turn to take the stage. As the lights went out, their logo illuminated the room, and the band emerged playing "Mammoth," eliciting cheers from the crowd. Their set showcased a mix of old and new tracks that highlighted the band's growth. When they began to play "Danger: Wildman," the excitement was palpable as the crowd joined in the screams. At one point during their performance, two mosh pits formed simultaneously. They continued with songs like "Noise," "Salt," "Termination," and "Escape." Vocalist Mike had the crowd choose between "Reptar, King of the Ozone" and "Hey John, What's Your Name Again?" The audience overwhelmingly voted for "Reptar, King of the Ozone." They slowed the pace with guitarist Jeremy singing "Chemical," during which the crowd illuminated the room with the flashlights on their phones. They concluded their set by thanking everyone for their support over the years and finished with an old favorite, "Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over."
