The Foxies | Nashville, TN

The first day of February 2023 was a memorable one for anyone that was at the Basement East in Nashville, TN. Emo Night Nashville and Nothingless hosted an incredible party featuring The Foxies, Maggie Miles, Manic. and Caroline Romano. All proceeds were donated to Hope for the Day, a non-profit movement empowering the conversation on proactive suicide prevention and mental health education.

Caroline Romano opened the night with her sweet voice and powerful lyrics. The crowd started to warm up from the cold weather and Romano highlighted the importance of talking about mental health when she played her song "Panic Attack". At the end of her set, Caroline played her "motto" – the song "Oddities and Prodigies" which is also the name of the artist's latest album.

Manic. was the second act of the night, igniting the flame and bringing a wave of energy to everyone at the Basement East. Frontman Nicholas Baños and his captivating stage presence kept Nashville moving from side to side during the entire set. The boys played their latest single "The Dropout Anthem" and older gems, such as "It Starts with This" and "DNA." The band welcomed Maggie Miles to the stage for an emotional performance of "Nothing With You". Manic.'s energy is guaranteed to fuel Nashville's music scene for years to come.

Maggie Miles' mighty vocal cords enchanted everyone next. The theatrical performance and ardent lyrics are a recurring theme while Maggie is onstage. The crowd was singing along and feeling the same passion that can be found in her lyrics. "Deserve This" and "Asthma" were two of the many hits that involved the public. Maggie had some heartwarming interactions with her old fans and conquered many new ones throughout the night.

Last but definitely not least, The Foxies rocked the crowd like a tornado. "Overrated" from the band's latest album started the party, and you could tell that the band was ready to play at home. When you looked around, not one soul was able to stand still. Fans jumping, screaming every single lyric and feeling the energy frontwoman Julia brought to the stage. Jams like "Little Monsters" and "If Life Were a Movie" made it to the setlist for the delight of the crowd. For the encore at the hometown party, Julia invited everyone that performed throughout the night, and even had a few fans come up to the stage to sing along to a great cover of "All The Small Things”. A night that united a few of the best Nashville artists for a grand cause marked the beginning of a great February here in Music City.

Hello! my name is Mariana but everyone knows me by Maris. I have been holding a camera since I was 9 years old and haven’t stopped ever since. I was born and raised in Brazil and moved to Nashville a decade ago. In 2020 I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BFA in Photography and Media Art and have been working with musicians and bands since then! The adrenaline of photographing live concerts is one of my favorite feelings and I can’t ever get enough of it.
