Pale Waves 'Unwanted' Album Review
Pale Waves continue to prove themselves as one of the most versatile young acts around, with each album crafting its own unique sonic trademark in their discography, but maintaining an identity and signature that is recognizably Pale Waves.
Pool Kids 'Pool Kids' Album Review
While there aren’t any massive changes to their sound, everything on Pool Kids is done bigger and better this time around - from massive choruses to shredding guitar leads and expansive soundscapes in odd time signatures that have no business being as catchy as they are. This is truly a band finding their sound, nailing it down, and claiming it as their own.

Nowhere Days 'Hell Is Real" Review
Released August 2nd, 2022, “Hell is Real” starts off incredibly exciting, perfectly transitioning into the second song and single off the album, “Get Your Shit Together”. The chord progressions and melodies in this song are very reminiscent of early 2000’s pop-punk. If you’re a full-blown nostalgic like I am, you absolutely love this. Moving into “Sara Jean”, we’re feeling a bit grim. The touches of piano and lyrics will absolutely put you in your feels. “Not Going Anywhere” picks things up again, including the light, fun, and quick Midwest Emo guitar pickings I think we all adore.
SUBVIOLET 'Sweet Routine' Video Premiere
Chicago rock quartet SUBVIOLET (formerly Commonweather) are excited to premiere their debut single “Sweet Routine” with us today. Blending bright, melodic synth tones of 80’s new wave the likes of Depeche Mode with the somber instrumentation and emotive lyricism popular with modern emo, the juxtaposition of the two provides a unique spin on the genre that is both fresh and exciting.
Overgrow "Hear Your Voice Again" Review
With all this new music, people might have a hard time picking their EP of the year. At least they will until they listen to Overgrow’s new EP Hear Your Voice Again. This EP is hands down the perfect embodiment of 2020. Words don’t do justice to the way this EP feels, but it’s sweet, melancholy, upbeat, sad, and comforting all wrapped up into one hefty package.
Seahaven "Halo of Hurt" Review
If one thing is to be made abundantly clear by Seahaven’s Halo of Hurt, it is that this is not the same band that made 2014’s brilliant Reverie Lagoon. That fact may be initially disconcerting to some, but rest assured - with Halo of Hurt, Seahaven have crafted their masterpiece. This album feels like a true moment, not just for Seahaven’s discography, but for the entire scene surrounding them.
